June 2022 — Present
At Scene+Heard, Northwestern's premier arts and culture publication,
I wear two hats.
As Social Media Director, my goal is to increase reader engagement through our social channels and highlight our staff's amazing work throughout the year.
As Managing Editor, I field pitches from writers, coordinate deadlines, and collaborate with my Assistant Editors and Editors-in-Chief to ensure the publishing of high-quality reviews, media analyses, and feature articles.

Scene+Heard's social media voice is a mix of pretentious art student and self-deprecating Film Twitter user. That gives me the chance to have more creative license with the types of posts I make, captions I write, and campaigns I run. I also regularly collaborate with our Design Director to come up with eye-catching graphics for our aesthetic feed.

In addition to making a post for every article S+H publishes, I post a more interactive story that tags the writer for them to repost on their profile. Every story also includes a call to action and link straight to the article. With this two-post system, I have generated 18k+ impressions, reached 6200+ non-followers, and increased our Profile Visit percentage by 8.6% in the span of 90 days.

Creating social-media-exclusive content is key to increasing audience following and engagement. At S+H, I conceptualize and execute seasonal marketing campaigns. For example, I created a "Best Halloween TV Special" Tournament during the week leading up to Halloween. The consistent posting increased engagement among our followers and created buzz for the launch of several Halloween-themed S+H articles.
